The short answers.

If you are choosing between the router/AirPlay path and an iPhone Direct session, start with the two paths.

What is Lunevo?

Lunevo is a local synchronized-audio system that lets a group use the phones and speakers they already have as listeners. The router path sends audio from an iPhone, iPad, or Mac over AirPlay to a supported GL.iNet portable router. An iPhone can also host a Direct session from local or imported DRM-free files.

Does Lunevo require the internet?

Not during local playback once source audio is available. Router sessions run on the Lunevo network, and a Direct session can use files already on the host iPhone. Streaming apps still need internet to fetch music.

Do I need a Lunevo router?

You need a supported GL.iNet portable router for the AirPlay path. An iPhone can host a Direct session from local or imported DRM-free files without a router. Nearby joining without an existing Wi-Fi network is iOS-only; Android listeners join over ordinary Wi-Fi.

Which routers are supported?

Beryl AX (GL-MT3000) and Beryl 7 (GL-MT3600BE) have both been extensively tested and are recommended. They run Lunevo OS for the router and AirPlay path. Ready-to-use Lunevo hardware is coming to this store; see the hardware guide for model details.

Can I use Spotify or Apple Music?

On the router path, an Apple device can send audio from an app over AirPlay, but the app still needs internet to fetch music. Direct sessions use local or imported DRM-free files; offline downloads kept inside Spotify, Apple Music, or similar subscription apps cannot be imported.

Can Android host a Lunevo session?

No. Android is a listener: it can discover or join a stream over Wi-Fi, play through the phone or a connected speaker, and adjust its own listening level and delay. Hosting, router setup, administration, and calibration are iOS responsibilities.

Can I use Bluetooth speakers?

Yes. A listener can use a connected Bluetooth speaker or a wired output. Bluetooth can add playback delay, so Lunevo provides per-listener delay controls and an iOS calibration flow. Calibration is a measurement to review, not a promise that every position will be identical; room noise, reflections, placement, and changing Bluetooth delay affect the result.

How many phones or speakers can join?

Lunevo is designed for multiple listeners. Practical capacity depends on the router, network conditions, devices, distance, and outputs, so we do not publish an unlimited-device promise. Contact Lunevo with a specific group setup if you need help planning it.

What does speaker timing calibration do?

An iOS admin or Direct host can use the microphone to measure short timing signals from connected listeners. Lunevo suggests per-listener delay corrections for review and application. It aligns sound at the measurement position, and a quiet area plus sensible speaker placement improve the result.

Does Lunevo collect my audio or personal data?

Lunevo has no account, advertising, analytics, or tracking. Audio, imported files, calibration analysis, and device settings stay on the participating devices or local network; Lunevo LLC cannot access or retain the session audio. Purchases are handled by Apple or Google.

How long does router setup take?

The current guide is designed to take about ten minutes with a supported router and an iPhone. The app transfers the appropriate Lunevo OS image and guides the setup; no computer or command line is needed. Ready-to-use Lunevo hardware is coming soon.

How does the app trial and unlock work?

You can try full playback for 10 minutes, then start another session after a 10-minute wait. The current U.S. one-time unlock is $9.99; store availability and local pricing can vary. It is not a subscription.
